Ups and Downs...

We all have our ups and downs in life and if you've ever tried to lose weight this is something you may know too well! About mid week, I made the mistake of being over confidant in my weight loss and allowed myself too many "cheat treats", reversing my progress a little bit; oh when will I learn??! I am proud to say that I did reach my goal of losing 2 pounds this week but that additional pound I gained back still haunts me, motivating me to make next week a better week! I was able to start ChaLEAN Extreme this week, a 3 month DVD program of cardio and strength training that I will do 6 days a week. It shouldn't be long before I start seeing results and what better motivation?

Going Down...

Well this week wasn't quite as successful as last, but considering two sick children, a day of grocery shopping, and many late nights, I am still proud of my measly 1.5 pound weight loss. I managed to get 30 minutes on the treadmill on Monday, 25 minutes of a dance workout on Tuesday, and another 30 minutes on the treadmill on Thursday; it wasn't a great week for exercise but I am very anxious to get started on ChaLean Extreme on Monday!! It's gruesome but sure to bring change!
I wanted to share with you a couple of tools and aids that keep me going! First off, my new best friend, Truvia- Truvia is a calorie free, natural sweetener that is made from the stevia plant. I add it to my morning coffee, oatmeal for breakfast, and mixed berries for a sweet treat. If you like and/or try Truvia I would love to know how you like it! The number one tool I use to keep on track is www.MyFitnessPal.com I log every bite I eat and it keeps track of my calories, fat, protein, and carbs for the day, it's a great way to know just what you're eating! It makes you think twice about that chocolate chip cookie when you realize just one cookie has over 125 calories!!
Despite coming in under my weight loss goal I am very excited to be back into another pair of jeans! Something must be working :-)

Taking a Jump!

How many of you are determined to lose weight and get in shape? Make dietary changes? Total lifestyle changes? Well, I’m jumping on the wagon and I’m determined to stay on! As part of my plan to achieve physical fitness, I am going to make my weight loss journey public; how much more motivating can ya get? I am going to give a weekly update on my achievements and struggles alike, mostly reflecting my weight loss. I will also be giving monthly updates on my overall fitness. I am looking forward to hearing from any of you that are on your own fitness journey! It makes such a difference when you have someone to be accountable to! I know I couldn’t have made it back down (finally!) to my pre-pregnancy weight with Shae if it hadn’t been for the support I received from my amazing husband!

With my second baby, Thane, being one month old, I now officially re-start my weight loss journey, and I’m taking you all with me! My small goal is to lose 2 pounds each week and my long term goal is to lose 45 pounds by the end of June. So, for my first official update- I have lost 5 pounds this week by cutting out sugar, cutting back on calories, and spending 30 minutes on the treadmill 4 days this week.

We present...

Thane Elliott Dolisi
We are blessed to announce the arrival of our son, born on January 8th at 9:12 a.m.
Thane weighed 6 lbs 14 oz and was 21 1/2 inches long
He is a strong little boy and we are all doing well!
We had a little excitement getting to the Birthing Center as we had to wait 2 hours for the county to clear the roads so we could get to the highway; once we did make it that far, we were blessed with safe travels and arrived at the Birthing Center in plenty of time!

Time sure flies!

Time sure gets away from you when you're chasing a toddler and counting down the days until the promised arrival of the next one! We have been so blessed this past year and Holiday season and we're so grateful for the time we got to spend with each of you, and for those that we haven't got to see we sure miss and love you!

We were able to spend a week in Nassau, Bahamas in November with Jeremy's parents, Dale and Angel, and his close friend Todd and his fiance Megan. The boys enjoyed scuba diving each morning and us girls got to relax on the beach!
Shae is a little water bug and just loved the ocean! She wasn't too impressed with having to hold someone's hand while she was in the water but it provided me with a photo-op :-)

Thanksgiving weekend we went to our neighborhood Christmas tree farm and chose this year's tree. We continued the Red/Black Husker's theme this year and Shae had the privilege of putting Daddy's hat on the top of the tree.

My parents hosted Farr family Christmas and this is just a glimpse of the fun we had!

Shae entertained the crowd by dancing with her polar bear from Great Aunt Donetta

We made the trip to Denver to spend Christmas with the Pullens (Mom's side); we got there early to beat the weather and Jeremy spent some time teaching Shae how to build with Legos.

Shae enjoyed playing with her cousin's sword in her new jammies from Mima and Papa

Christmas day we all enjoyed a couple rounds of Mad Gab and Apples to Apples

Shae and Gavin are best buds and are learning to share and trade their toys :-)

Rest assured there are more pictures to come and I will update soon (hopefully) with news of our new arrival!

Where to start...

It seems to much has happened since I last posted, which may explain the gap in time :) I will do my best to fill all the gaps but please forgive any oversights!

Shae started walking just a few days after her first birthday and she hasn't slowed down since!

Heather and I took the four 'Farr' grandchildren to a friend's to take some pictures of the whole clan together. It was quite the task but we got some cute ones!

Jeremy and I found out today that our new blessing is a BOY and due in January! We are very excited and everything is going very well so far.

We had the pleasure of having my mom's parents here for a few days last month and sure treasured the time spent with them!

There was a group of us that were able to attend KC Chief's pre season game vs. the Seattle Seahawks; although I don't have any photographic proof we did have a blast! (Even though the Chiefs were defeated that game)

Shae has been growing like a weed and picking up on words right and left! She is a joy to every person that sees her and is a constant blessing in our lives. We cannot wait for her to share her contagious smile with Thane this winter!

Summer Breeze

This summer has gone by in a breeze already! Shae has turned one, Jeremy and I celebrated our second anniversary, and we enjoyed a weekend in Breckenridge, CO for a family reunion.

This image may be a little much for most, but it's Jeremy's pride and joy! Within an hour Jeremy had shot and killed 2 of the countless wood chucks living under the gazebo. He of course had to have photographic proof and share the memory with his little girl :)

Shae had a great time celebrating her birthday with a host of friends and family!

She was more than happy with her first taste of cake!

We flew into Denver for the reunion so my parents took our extra things with them. Once of which was Shae's favorite toy! Thank you Mima and Papa!!

As most of you know, Jeremy and I are expecting Baby 2 around Christmas of this year. I am approaching week 20 and feeling great!

Shae probably thinks I'm crazy when I talk about "the baby" and point to myself but nonetheless she humors me by saying "Hi, Baby!" when she sits on my lap. She will be a great big sissy!
